Ambience-based Drifting in Silence renews the band’s commitment to groove with the 2009 release, Facewithin. Continuing the composition arc begun with 2007’s Chameleon, Facewithin presents DiS’ trademark layered sound textures, powered by hard-edged, funk-flavored driving industrial dance rhythms. Listeners familiar with previous work from Drifting In Silence will recognize the trademark prismatic tonalities and looping rhythms suspended in an ambient mix. Fallto brings these previous threads together, and makes its own statement with edgy timbres and hard driving beats that punch through their atmospheric setting in unexpected ways. At first ladderdown makes you feel safe. but just when you think you have found your key to this release, stembridge surprises with new facets like skillfully integrated electro-influences and groovy beats showing their sharp teeth.
